The Meaning of Ordination

General Assembly 2010 decided to continue a discussion of whether ordination in The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada should be restricted by gender. Following are some papers on this topic:

It is purposed to help us discern God's voice.

Alliance World Fellowship

Alliance World Fellowship convocation begins Tuesday, May 15th at Bayview Glen Church. This is an opportunity for our International Church Presidents and Pastors to gather together for their quadriennal conference. We are privileged to be able to have this event here in Canada for the first time as we celebrate 125 years of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Evening services from Tuesday, May 15th through Friday, May 18th are open to the public and free to attend. We hope to see many local people from our congregations participate with us during this historic time.

Ride 2012

Check out the new Ride 2012 website at www.Ride2012.ca

Ride 2012 is a practical way for you, your church, and The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada to stand up for the marginalized and neglected in this country's inner cities. We are raising funds for three projects in the inner cities of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. We hope to build on the momentum of Ride 2012 as a foundation for future projects as our churches invest in the vision and share it with those around them.

Defend Dignity

Defend Dignity is the C&MA justice campaign aimed at the abolition of prostitution in Canada. The campaign provides opportunities for churches to fulfill the C&MA Vision Prayer as we have invited the Lord to make us passionate in pursuit of his mission and mercy.

Though developed by National Women's Ministries of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, we hope that entire churches will engage with this issue and work towards ending prostitution in our country.

The House - A Ministry of First Alliance in Calgary

Click on the link below to view a video of a story that was shared on 100 Huntley Street on February 21 of a ministry of First Alliance - Calgary called The House. The House, led by Derrick Mitchell, provides a third space of Gospel ministry in an eclectic neighbourhood of Calgary. They are growing in their effectiveness in reaching a variety of tribes with the gospel and have more recently moved in their strategy from that of 'new-venture' to a gathering and worshipping community.

This is certainly a compelling story of how the Gospel of Christ is finding growing expression in a highly urban environment!
